Introduction

Hello!

My name is Pirka Bool and I’ll be joining my colleague Vivienne and 24 of our, of course, finest students to Temecula this October (life is tough…). I’ve been an English teacher at Dalton Voorburg for almost two years now and I can tell you it’s a great school! This is not only from a teacher’s perspective, but also from a student’s, as I used to be a student there myself (and yes, Vivienne was already there then, although I unfortunately never had her as my English teacher during my 2 years at Dalton Voorburg. But trust me, she’s catching up on those lost years now!!!).

Underneath you’ll find a couple of photos, which will give you a quick peek into my life.

Let me first introduce you to my 2 housemates: Pieke (on the left) and Bouh (on the right). They are brother and sister and at the end of this week they will be one year old. They are definitely the nicest cats in the world, although I have to admit I am having more success in keeping my pupils in line than my cats….

This is what they looked like when I got them at 8 weeks old last summer. Absolutely gorgeous, don’t you think?

This here is my lovely first-year tutor class. Naturally they are the best class in school! The person in the back who is trying to see over everyone’s heads is me…… Did I mention I am not the tallest person in Holland?

I love playing squash! You can find me on a squash court at least twice a week. I play in a lady’s team. Due to circumstances out of our control (naturally none of our own) we’ve recently been demoted from the ‘promotieklasse’. So we’re currently trying our luck in a mixed team and after the summer we’ll fight our way back to the ‘promotieklasse’.

I guess I can’t finish off this blog without putting a picture of myself on it as well, so here it is!
